About Us
Elliot Freeman created DTT to effectively manage workplace violence. DTT's courses were
originally developed for law enforcement and security, but quickly evolved into a versatile
violence management solution for any workplace.
The DTT training academy is
one
of the largest private training facilities in the Midwest.
Mr. Freeman has trained for over thirty five years under the direction of some of the finest

Legally Defensible
A no injury scenario equals millions of dollars saved in every negligence lawsuit.
The commonly accepted use of force matrix allows law enforcement personnel to use one
level of force higher than what is presented to them by the aggressor. As unlikely as it
sounds, DTT actually lowers the use of force matrix in a confrontation, meaning less force
is used than is presented. With the use of force constantly scrutinized and questioned in
today's courts, DTT has earned a reputation for a defensive tactics program that seems to
have been "designed to be caught on videotape."
Martial Science, Not Martial Arts
Much like the work of William E. Fairbairn, Assisstant commissioner of the Shanghai Municipal
Police did in the 1920's, where he developed direct and effective fighting techniques from
traditional martial arts; DTT as been developed to utilize the best techniques to instruct
students in the science of defense.
